Emily Grace Clark

Emily Grace Clark, May 6, '06
On May 6, 2006, our little girl, Emily Grace Clark, was born at 32 weeks. Several weeks prior to that, my amniotic fluid levels began to drop. I was being monitored several times a week over the next few weeks, and my levels continued to drop. My doctor in Florence admitted me to ECM hospital for continued monitoring, and finally I was transferred to Huntsville Hospital into the care of Dr. Bailey to deliver Emily. A NICU nurse came to our room the day Emily was to be delivered to talk to us and prepare us for what was to come. We were completely overwhelmed and terrified, but every nurse and doctor helped to reassure our fears and concerns. On May 6th, it was finally time for Emily to enter the world, and she did so weighing in at 3lbs, 3oz, and was 15 inches in length.
She was absolutely perfect!!! She did not have any serious complications, and spent 4 weeks being cared for in the NICU at Huntsville Hospital. Nurse Dee was our head nurse, and she was so amazing, as were all the other nurses and doctors there in the NICU. Looking back on that time, we are reminded of how blessed we were to be surrounded by such loving and professional doctors and nurses. The memories of our time in the NICU are very special to us, and we love to look back at the pictures and talk to Emily about that precious time of her life.
Emily is now 5 years old, and will be starting Kindergarten at Forest Hills Elementary in Florence this fall.

She loves gymnastics, dance, soccer and playing on the beach! She has such a fun, outgoing little personality, and lights up the room with her laughter and silliness wherever she goes!
We will forever be grateful to everyone at Huntsville Hospital for taking care of us, and continue to give God the glory for the great miracle he gave us on May 6, 2006!!!
